Remnith is a chaotic FPS where enemy units feed off of the energy of every shot that isn't lodged directly into them. The more you miss the stronger they get. Challenge enemies in over 25 arena battles spread over 3 levels with the choice of 5 difficulty levels. Arm yourself with gigantic multi-barrel energy cannons, refine your accuracy and dismantle machines piece by piece before can they have a chance to evolve any further. Remnith can be played both with or without a VR headset. Motion controllers, gamepads and mouse and keyboard setups are all supported. When using motion controllers you have a choice of a few locomotion options such as thumbstick/trackpad movement and teleportation.
During University the four of us worked together a lot to create a bunch of unfinished and unreleased games for VR. We had fun doing this but we started question if a game could really be called a ‘game’ without any players. Because of this we decided to make one of our older projects, Remnith, into a full fledged game and properly release it to see what it’s really like to create our first game. This took a lot longer than expected as we really wanted to make sure the game was worth our players’ money. More than two years after we originally started the game and a few months after graduation we finally managed to get the game in a state we were happy with. We ended up adding a lot of support for the game which added to delays but it was really worth it. We wanted to make sure that the game great regardless of whether you play in VR or not or whether you use motion controllers or a gamepad.
